NORTHERN LIGHTS
Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights
As many photographers I have been drawn to shoot the lights, and living in Iceland will give you many opportunities to shoot these magnificent lights. They require you to go out to take photographs late at night in the cold weather but it quickly is forgotten once it appears in the sky.
Some people say they can hear a sound from the lights? Well sometime if it is relay calm and no sound I sometime thing I can hear them. The sound is like electric humming ? I think it is just an imagination.?
What causes Northern Lights
An aurora, sometimes referred to as a polar light, is a natural light display in the sky, predominantly seen in the high latitude (Arctic and Antarctic) regions. Auroras are produced when the magnetosphere is sufficiently disturbed by the solar wind that the trajectories of charged particles in both solar wind and magnetospheric plasma, mainly in the form of electrons and protons, precipitate them into the upper atmosphere (thermosphere/exosphere), where their energy is lost.
